POMPANO BEACH MARCHING BAND RAISES MONEY FOR SUGAR BOWL
Full Description:
A Pompano Beach marching band is headed to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
Last week, Ely High School band members were $80,000 short of its goal to raise the money needed to perform in the football game. But by yesterday, the deadline, community leaders raised about $60,000 and received enough pledges to send the 200 band members to New Orleans on January third.
The Might Tigers Marching Band will be performing in the pre-game and half time shows at the nationally televised match-up between Louisiana State University and Notre Dame. The band is one of 13 high school bands performing in New Orleans.
