Full Description:
Dr. Leo A. and Marie Muna Gosser have been members of the Parkland Historical Society for many years and have been instrumental in helping the society in a recent project to produce a DVD about Parkland's past. It is important to preserve the past while there are still old-time residents around to tell the story.
The DVD was recently completed, and the Gosser's donated over $1000 to help defray the costs of producing sufficient copies for sale. Copies of the DVD entitled "a memorable past, an exciting future" may be obtained from the Parkland Historical Society (see website www.parklandhistory.com for details).
The Gosser's have enjoyed the lifestyle that Parkland's AE1 and AE2 zoning have provided. These zoning classifications are unique to Parkland and promote agricultural activities. The Gosser's residence in Pinetree Estates is a veritable zoo with sheep, chickens, peafowl, pheasants, dogs, cats and bees. They can literally say that they live off the land with animals providing meat and eggs, and the bees providing honey. Marie is quick to point out that she signs her emails "us and our little zoo".
Parkland's early officials and residents were intelligent enough to appreciate and preserve this unique lifestyle. The Gosser's wish that everyone could enjoy the agricultural opportunities that Parkland affords.
