PARKLAND/COCONUT CREEK HEALTH FAIR ......FREE MEDICAL SERVICES The 7th annual Parkland/Coconut Creek Health Fair was held Sunday, February 11 at Carl's Furniture Store on Rte 441 in Coconut Creek. It was a magnificent day for the event with sunny skies and pleasant temperatures, as the participants enjoyed a truly remarkable event. There were free mammograms, blood tests, bone densities, sonograms, carotid artery scans, osteoporosis screenings, plus many free giveaways. People who attended were amazed that all services were free to the public. The demand was very high as there were over 100 blood samples taken. The mammography van was also booked solid for the event. The co-founders, Dr. Leo A. and Marie Muna Gosser, were especially delighted this year with several new participants. In addition to Carl's Furniture Store donating the use of their parking lot, we were fortunate to have the support and participation of Parkcreek Surgery Center LLC and Diagnostic Professionals Inc, Both of these medical facilities recently opened for business in the Carl's Furniture Store facility. Dr. and Mrs. Gosser have been deeply involved in this project for the past 7 years. It takes a full 6 months of planning and preparations to conduct this type of operation Dr. Gosser said. Marie agreed that it is a lot of hard work, but it is also a very worthwhile venture. Everyone needs to give back to their community and this is our way of doing just that. She added, in the Jewish faith, this is what is called a mitzvot, a good deed.
